OUR CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS
Marjaree Mason Center
The Marjaree Mason Center was founded by the YWCA, in 1979, after the death of Marjaree Mason. For the past thirty-five years, the Center has operated the only domestic violence shelter in Fresno County. In 1996 the Center became an independent non-profit. With the support of the community and strong leadership, the Center has become one the largest domestic violence agencies in California, providing a vital community service for those who are impacted by domestic violence in Fresno County and beyond.
Over the years, the Center has grown to provide a wide range of services to meet the complex needs of victims of abuse. These services are provided largely at no cost to domestic violence survivors. Services include: Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, Counseling, Legal Assistance, Support Groups, Domestic Violence Education, 24-Hour Hotline & Crisis Intake, Therapy, Safety Planning, Victim Advocacy, Human Trafficking Services and Children’s Services. The Shelter Program has grown to include three safe houses in Fresno, Reedley and Clovis that provide emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence and their children.
Fresno Rescue Mission
Thanks to the prayers and support of our dedicated friends, God is using the Fresno Rescue Mission to change the lives of men, women, and children in desperate need. Learn more about the work we are doing in the community.
The Fresno Rescue Mission endeavors to glorify God by meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the least, the last and the lost in our community.
Recognizing the teachings of Jesus; that the least, the last, and the lost will always be in our midst, we will partner with the Christian community, social service agencies, businesses, families, and individuals to meet the spiritual and physical needs of all men, women, and children in our community.
Poverello House
Poverello House provides three meals a day, 365 days a year to men, women and families along with services that improve people’s quality of life. These services include clothing distribution, emergency food bags, a medical clinic, the Men’s Resident Rehabilitation program, temporary overnight shelter for men and women, and social services for individuals seeking to end their homelessness situation. Poverello House follows Papa Mike’s philosophy: Listen with compassion, give with a warm heart and a smile.
Compassion International
Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that pairs compassionate people with those who are suffering from poverty. The ministry releases children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. The goal is for each child to become a responsible and fulfilled adult.
Compassion’s work has grown from modest beginnings in South Korea in 1952 when American evangelist Rev. Everett Swanson felt compelled to help 35 children orphaned by the Korean conflict. Today it is a worldwide ministry where millions of children are now reaping the benefits of one man’s clear, God-given vision.
